40. I have some bookcase that look cluttered and disarrayed, what can I do?

1. How to display my objects and collections for
   maximum impact?

• Group items together, whether by element
(pottery, brass, carved wood, glass, etc.), subject
(tea cups and saucers, figurines, flat irons, bells,
etc.), color, period (Colonial, French baroque,
etc.) or region (African art, shells from a trip,
  Mexican artifacts, etc.).
• Arrange accessories within a vignette in odd numbers!1, 3, 5, 7. More than that becomes a
collection, which makes actual numbers negligible.
• Have a range of varying heights to form a visual triangle!tallest item either to one side or in
center of display, graduating down to smallest items.
• Balance the arrangement's visual weight!measured by color (darker colors appear to be heavier)
or mass (solid objects appear to be heavier). This of the arrangement as a teeter-totter!
"heaviest" objects toward the center balancing "lighter" ones to the side.
• A symmetrical arrangement (which produces almost a mirror image of itself) usually lends more
formality to a room; an asymmetrical arrangement (usually with different elements) is more
 casual.
• To provide greater impact for an item, consider raising it by putting something under it (a box or
 several books).
• Don't assume there are "kitchen," "bathroom" or "any-room" items. Anything which is unusual or
placed in an unlikely place invigorates a room's design.
• Don't try to display everything at once.
• ;Rotate cherished items to keep settings more dynamic.

2. How to make wreath for any decor?

It is easy to decorate your home with wreath embellished with red berries and natural pinecones!

• At first take an 18" grapevine wreath and cut any wire or wrap that holds the layers together.
Gently separate the grapevine wreath into two wreaths that are still connected on one side, so
that they overlap on one side.
• Glue gun a piece of floral foam (size - about 5"x 4"x 3") to the intersection of the two wreath
sections, where they overlap. Wire the two wreaths together for strength in the places that they
 overlap.
• Place the berry garland over the grapevine wreath and secure it with floral wire. Fluff the berry
garland to hide the areas of attachment and make it look more natural.
• Use large and small pinecone sprays in the areas of attachment, to hide the places where the
floral wire was used. Glue gun the small pinecone sprays to the wreath and use the large
pinecone sprays in the floral foam. Make a large wired ribbon bow with a piece of ribbon about 3'
long. Weave the bow ends through the berries and pinecone sprays greenery.
• Look at the wreath and fluff berries where needed. Add additional floral wire where needed for
 stability.

3. How to decorate with pumpkins?

Pumpkins can be used to create interesting center pieces for holiday tables. Pumpkins can also be used to spruce up your porch for fall. You can use real pumpkins or even ceramic pumpkins that can be used year after year. Just go to your local grocery store and selecting pumpkins in various sizes and arranging them on your dining room table with dried fall leaves. For your porch, use various sized pumpkins in a group around a pot of bright colored mums. Pumpkins also look great lining your stairways.

4. How to decorate with Easter eggs?

• Blown Eggs - tired of boiling eggs and having them cracked and rotting weeks later - try blowing
the eggs and they'll last forever. Make a small hole with a needle at either end of the egg.
Remember pierce the yolk. Had better use the needle to start the hole and then gentle work in
the nail or toothpick. Place your mouth over one end and blow gently until all the contents are
out. Wash the egg in hot water and rinse in a solution of one tspn chlorine bleach per half cup of
water and then rinse well in warm water to kill any bacteria that may be on the surface of the
egg. You can use Styrofoam or cardboard instead.
• Decoupage : Cut or tear small pieces of art tissue paper and adhere to eggs with Mod Podge or
diluted white glue. Try overlapping - brush glue on the stuck-on pieces, then add more pieces,
overlapping as you go. Finally seal the finished egg with two or three coats of Mod Podge. For a
 shiny finish, apply clear coat.
• Dye your eggs. If using your own dye, add one teaspoon of vinegar to 1/2 cup boiling water and
add 20 drops of the desired color. Remember, be creative, mix colors to create stunning shades
of teal, oranges or deeper greens. Be patient and let your eggs dry completely. To make your
patterns - draw on your dyed egg with your wax (wax resist dyed). Then re-dye your eggs in
another color. For more complex design, just repeat the process.
• Display your eggs on an Easter Egg Tree or display year round in a ceramic bowl or large vase.Try
using toile napkins and place your eggs in a ceramic bowl or use metallic tissue paper for an
industrial feel and present them in a stainless steel or brass bowl.

5. How to decorate a few square inches of space of desks, end tables, and side tables?

Gather favorite images and frames of a small scale on the table. Having a lamp tall enough to shine over all the images to guarantee the pictures will always be seen in their best light. In a personal space like a bedroom, fill a table full of images that evoke personal memories and give you a warm feeling every day. For a more public space like a desk, consider pictures that reflect the mood of a workspace: current, open to everyone who passes by, and cheerful. Mix in a few mementos or favorite items, perhaps a plant or two, to create an eye-pleasing vignette. To keep the images inviting and fresh, occasionally change a few of the photos, and rearrange the cluster of frames.

29. How can I stash newspapers and magazines conveniently and neatly?

This could be a magazine rack, an ottoman with storage or a big basket.

30. How can I arrange books and collectibles at bookshelves creatively?

Arrange books according to size and color, and intersperse collectibles for maximum attractiveness.

31. How can I increase year-round lounging comfort in family room?

Use throw pillows.

32. How can I add storage for treasures in children's room?

  cards and so on?

  English country style home?

Add a bit of sparkle to the cozy ambience with silver (tea services, candlesticks and compotes) and brass (andirons, candleholders or chandeliers).

40. I have some bookcase that look cluttered and disarrayed, what can I do?

Place paperback books together and do not mix them in with hard bound books. Put the largest and tallest books on the bottom shelves to anchor the bookcase. Vary the heights with the tallest books in the middle of the shelf and don't place tiny books next to tall books. Descend in gradual increments. Putting a row of encyclopedia books that are all one color and style on a bottom shelf is a great way to anchor the bookcase. It also brings a lot of unity with the repetition of the books. If you don't have enough books to fill the entire case, put the books on the bottom shelves and leave the upper shelves for accessories. If you mix accessories and books on the same shelf, try to make the books the dominant theme and not the other way around.
